From Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September 2026, The Real Trip will be back on the beach of Makkum at De Holle Poarte. Three days of windsurfing, beach, sports and fun — for participants, fans and families.
Since 1995, The Real Trip has been one of the most famous windsurfing events in the Netherlands. And it stays true to the basics: an accessible weekend for and by windsurfers, where fun on the water comes first.
For everyone on the water
Beginner or seasoned racer, foiler or old school, young talent or recreational — everyone is welcome. At one of the most beautiful surf spots in the country, we bring surfers of all ages and levels together.
Races, Rabbit Start & kids
The legendary long distance races return, culminating in the spectacular Rabbit Start: hundreds of surfers flying onto the water at the same time. And the youngest participants experience their own Real Trip in the shallow bay of Makkum during the kids races.
Windsurf EXPO
Throughout the weekend, brands, shops and partners will present the latest material for the 2026/2027 season. Viewing, asking questions and testing — it's all possible on the beach.
More than competitions
