Who we are

This website belongs to Stichting Beach Events Makkum (Dutch CoC 97509345), organiser of the The Real Trip windsurf event in Makkum. For questions about your data, contact us at info@therealtrip.nl.

What data we process

When you register or contact us, we process the data you enter yourself, such as name, email address, phone number, country, sail/start number and your class. For payments, the transaction runs through our payment provider; we do not store full card details.

During the event, photos and videos may be taken which we publish on the site and on social media. If you want a photo of you removed, email us.

Why and on what basis

We use your data to handle your registration and participation, show results, communicate with you and organise the event. The basis is performing your registration, our legitimate interest in a well-run event, and where needed your consent (for example for marketing and non-essential cookies).

Cookies

We use functional cookies needed for the site to work. In addition, through Google Tag Manager we use analytics and marketing cookies to measure how the site is used. These are only placed after you give consent in the cookie notice; if you decline, they stay off.

Sharing with third parties

We only share data with parties that help us run the event, such as our payment provider for payments, Google for website analytics, and our photo service for showing photos. They process data under their own terms and solely for these purposes.

How long we keep data

We keep your data as long as needed for the event and as long as the law requires (for example for our records). After that we delete or anonymise it.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, and to object to certain uses. You can also withdraw consent you gave. Send your request to info@therealtrip.nl. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
